Motivational Monday: Being part of the solution

Ellen DeGeneres
has been all over the news this week. Normally I don't pay attention to these sorts of things, because frankly, they're negative
. I believe that the more negative I see and hear, the worse I feel. Do you find that in your life?
Are there people in your life that raise you up and make you feel good, and then others that drag you down and make you feel bad?
I see this daily in my personal corner of the world. But what about the world in general. There are people all over the place spouting theories on how we can correct the problems in our world. Then when they find someone who disagrees with their thoughts on the matter, they fight with them. They "hate" them, maybe even to the point of becoming physical.
I just finished reading the series of books "Conversations with God
". In this dialogue there was alot of stuff that resonated very well for me, and of course
, there were things that did not. The one thing that really struck me was the talk about " collective consciousness
". If you haven't heard this term before, it's the thought that our beliefs create our reality, and that our "collective" beliefs create our "collective" reality.
So going back to those that raise us up and those that drag us down. Depending on the balance of those forces in our life, will depend on how we see the world. Do you see it has fearful, hateful, terrible....or do you see it as good, peaceful and joyful?
Your thoughts on this matter are part of the "collective consciousness". It's possible that there is more "hate" in the world than there is "love". It's also possible that we're fed more "hate" than we are "love" to influence our mindset.
So what can we do? We can raise our "collective consciousness" by raising our "individual consciousness". The more people that do not respond to the hate and fear, and choose love and joy, the more we raise ourselves as a society.
So back to Ellen. What she did here was amazing.
She said outright, I might not agree with his politics, but I'm friends with the man
. Ellen's right here. We don't have to agree and that's ok
. Why do we choose not to appreciate the differences in people? Wow, if the whole world was full of clones of me...the world would be a pretty darned boring place to live. Let's all follow Ellen's lead this week, and instead of judging others, let's offer love and compassion. Smile, laugh and listen with someone who believes differently than you.
Choose to see the world in a state of love, instead of in a state of fear! Let's start today and change the direction we're headed in!
Be the light, shine that light in the dark places and let's change the "collective consciousness"! As the song says "It all starts with the man in the mirror"!
BE THE CHANGE!
In a gentle way, you can shake the world!
