Motivational Monday: What's your Intention?

Thoughts are things!
We've seen it, we've read it, we keep hearing it. We've also heard over and over again: "change your thoughts—change your life!"
Yeah, okay, cool. Should be easy...right?
It's a little tougher than that. Life likes to throw us curve balls all the time and sometimes it hard to just " think
" our way out of it. We're supposed to be positive and see that glass as half full; we don't complain, we just keep on going no matter what! Good thoughts, right?
Well...maybe. But what if our " thoughts
" and our " actions
" don't align? We've chosen to see that glass as half full but we act as if it isn't.
Let's say that we're not happy in our jobs. I'm not talking about those certain aspects that don't make us happy, I mean we don't like what we're doing and it doesn't align with our ethics and morals. We're working to make money; we're working so we can buy that big beautiful house and that fancy car—but every day we go to work for those reasons, and it rubs at us that we're doing something we don't agree with.
So we're doing all the right things, we're looking at that glass as half full, we're smiling—but deep inside we're torn. Our thoughts not aligning with our desires.
So we decide to look for another job. The same type of job of course, because we need to keep that income at a status quo. Perhaps we find that job. Maybe it's more money, better vacations—we're happy. But only temporarily! It's still not aligning with out truth—our purpose—our intention.
Can you see how life never really improves? We're stuck in a constant state of "maybe". Maybe
once I get that job I'll be happy. Maybe
once I get that new house I'll be happy. Maybe
once I have that new car, I'll be happy. Maybe--maybe--maybe!
What if we live our lives with intention and move away from the " maybe
" state we're living in?
Let's start being happy now!
Set that intention! How would you like your life to look? Sit down and write up a detailed description of everything you want your life to be. This might take some time, it might take several drafts. Take your time, make it detailed. Make sure to include your purpose -- your intention!
Once you have that down, then start finding one place that you can start to move in the direction of that intention. It might be a very small step—doesn't matter. Baby step yourself in the direction you want to go. As you start moving this might change and your intention might change. What's more important is that you will likely change along the way. You'll begin to see what's important to you and what isn't. You'll begin to align your thoughts and your actions.
You will live more purposefully!
Most of us live have at one point or another lived in the state of "maybe". But "maybe" will lead you nowhere!
It's time we get clear on our intentions
—drop the maybe and move your life forward.
Need help defining your desires? Hash it out with a friend of spouse. Journal, talk to yourself. Whatever you need to do to define the direction you want your life to move in.
