Are You Stuck?
July 4th, 2022

I know, in some ways, I am. Sometimes I can see it --- other times I do not. I can, however, usually see it in someone else. That's usually easy, but, oftentimes, seeing it in ourselves is a bit more challenging. Overcoming that challenge and being able to "unstuck" ourselves is the key to us living our best possible life.
So how do we know when we are stuck? Actually, it's pretty simple. We keep doing the same thing over and over again --- expecting a different result. We will always justify the past result as not being " our fault " but the fault of an outside circumstance. The words "if only this would have happened, or that would have happened, everything would be different" is a big clue that we are spinning our wheels.
Did you ever hear yourself saying something like this? Then you are stuck !!!!!
Welcome to the real world.
Last week I shared a story about a bowl that sucked me back to a moment of grief in my life. I'm definitely not "stuck" in that moment of grief, but there are times I am stuck in "grief". It rears its ugly head at times when I least expect it.
This week, I heard a number of people share something with me that I knew was a sign that they were "stuck" . The same actions will always produce the same result.
How can we step out of this destructive pattern? First, we need to recognize that we are spinning our wheels. We need to stop justifying what went wrong in the past, and defining how it could be different this time. Continually repeating actions or behaviors and expecting different results, or other people to change , will always yield the same result.
It's so easy to get in a rut and get stuck. Many times we are stuck in goals or visions we have for our life. Many times, something has been said to us in passing, that has caused us to be stuck in a moment, unable to move forward.
Regardless, we keep repeating cycles --- expecting, even justifying, why the result will be different this time.
Another sign that we are "stuck" would be expecting an external change to occur. Changing ourselves is very scary and painful because we have to let go of " what we envisioned
" for ourselves, and allow " what is
" to happen. But in order for us to find joy, love, and fulfillment we need to enter into the pain and walk thru it to the other side. When we do decide to let go of what's weighing us down, we will fly and become an even better version of ourselves.
This week, try to recognize places where you are stuck. Let go of what's burdening you. Let go of what you think life should be and embrace what it is.
Go with the flow.
Look for the signs that are on your path, being careful not to create signs.. Sometimes what we perceive as a sign is really just a distraction. Remember, if it didn't work before --- it's not going to work again
. Guaranteed. Same action will produce the same result. Move on --- your true calling, and your best life, will be revealed only when you let go of what you have been programmed to believe!
All good things lie just past our ability to let go! Let's live our best lives and create a life we can be proud of!
Let go --- and Let God!
You can not begin the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the old one!
