Choosing Your Words...
April 17th, 2022

Words have power .
Power beyond our wildest imagination.
They can warm our hearts and make us feel loved --- by the same token, they can cut like the sharpest of knives.
This week something came up that caused me to ponder much about the life I thought I led, and the one I am currently leading. It has caused me to self-reflect and think about the words I chose to use in the past as well as the words I use in the present.
You can tell a lot about people by the words they use.
Listening intently, and with purpose, can tell you where they are in their lives. Are the words chosen more positive or are they more negative
? When they refer to events, past or present
, are they more of a positive tone, or more of a negative tone? Are past events spoken of in present tense --- indicating they are stuck in the past?
Or is their choice of words present tense --- indicating they are in the moment? You can learn much about a person if you choose to really pay attention to their words.
Love and hate
are two words that I feel are power words
. When we say "I love you" we're sharing the deepest part of ourselves with someone else. We are warming their hearts and creating positive vibrations in our world.
Hate is also a power word.
It also shares the deepest parts of ourselves with another person. It can cut like a knife and lower our vibrations.
I try very hard to avoid using the word "hate", and never in reference to an individual. I really do believe that we should love all things and all events. That said --- being human and ultimately flawed --- I often fail at that endeavor.
There are certain events, or things, that are just hard to love.
The event that occurred earlier this week is hard to love. It is hard to love something that cuts like a knife. But you see, therein lies the challenge. If I want to advance as a spiritual being then the fact that it hurts gives me the opportunity to remain in love and respond in love.
How do we manage to love that which we hate? I'm not sure there is a perfect answer or perfect solution for every situation. For the moment, I'm choosing to "hate' this scene in the play of my life.
I'll do that for today -- maybe even tomorrow -- always attempting to interject a bit of love into this scene whenever I have the chance. Amidst the hate --- there is always an opportunity for love.
Since love is the more powerful force, it will always overcome the hate and allow for a shift to occur.
But, if we try to suppress the negative emotion, there will never be an opportunity to heal it. There is always the opportunity for love in every scene of your life --- but you may need to reach for it.
So is it ok to "hate'?
Only momentarily and always infused with love! Reach as far as you need and raise the vibration of the moment --- that is where true healing occurs.
Spend this week listening to your choice of words or phrases. Are you stuck in past moments, or are you present in current moments. It's ok to sink and momentarily "hate" something, but it is equally as important to always seek for and find the love. That is the core emotion we all need to return to --- ALWAYS. That is our destiny.
Have an amazing week and reach for love!
“In a world full of hate --- be love.”
