What if?
April 25th, 2022

I find different theories on life and its purpose very intriguing to think about.
Seems as if everyone, or every religion or spiritual practice, has its own theories about why we are here and what we are supposed to do with our lives. I don’t honestly know what is right, or if any of them are completely correct.
Regardless, reading and listening to different theories is definitely thought provoking.
One of the more thought provoking theories I’ve been delving into lately is that we pre-plan our lives before we come here to earth.
We do this with certain goals in mind. The theory ( simplified
) is this;
we create certain challenges in order to overcome blocks or grow spiritually.
If we choose to consider a thought process like this, it will challenge a lot of what we have been taught throughout our lives. Remember --- we are considering --- not
concluding
that this is fact.
If we keep our minds open to new theories --- we grow, however, if we close our minds to new theories we will never move past where we are.
So consider for a moment…
What if you planned your life before you ever entered a body? What if the challenges you faced during your life --- were planned? What if they were planned to help you grow spiritually?
Hmm….that might change some things….
Before I proceed, I want to say that there are certain things in life in which I struggle to apply this theory. I’m sure you will have the same thought. That’s ok --- we are human and there are many things we will not be able to understand.
But for the sake of conversation let's apply them to day to day things.
So, if you remember from last week, I am trying to “love something I hate”!
Successfully some days --- unsuccessfully others! What if I take it a step further and conclude that I planned this challenge to help me grow spiritually?
(I have already considered that --- but it’s a work in progress.😬 )
Working through that process I have tried to consider what I am to learn? What good has come from this? What good will come from this?
Is there a theme in your life?
Something that constantly re-occurs. Do you have difficulty with relationships? Difficulty finding a job you love. Difficulty recognizing your self-worth. Difficulty with self-esteem. What challenges has life presented to you --- over and over again
?
What if you take a moment and consider that those challenges where there for you to address, face head on and ultimately heal
?
Back to loving what you hate.
Do you hate the challenges life is giving you? Do you struggle to see the good in the difficult? Do you struggle to find the purpose in the difficult?
This week, take a moment to look over your life and see what challenges have reoccurred over and over again. Maybe you reach out and read a bit more on this topic and see if it resonates with you. Can you find themes in your life?
Do you see more than one theme?
I would encourage you to address one at a time, and maybe seek out someone to talk with and walk you through what you are seeing. Ask yourself what this challenge has taught you and what good has come from the fact that you have faced these particular challenges.
How have you changed as a result?
It's a process. It doesn’t happen overnight, and sometimes just when you think you’ve healed it, it will rear its ugly head again.
So it has been two weeks and I’m still struggling to love what I hate. We are human after all – we need to give ourselves some grace and continue reaching for the love!
Let’s take this opportunity to reach outside of the box and embrace a new school of thought. Let’s heal ourselves and the world.
We have all the power!
