Motivational Monday: Staying Grounded!
(Posted on July 27, 2020)

Ever have one of those days?
Days where it feels like the pigeons are using you for target practice?
I had one of those days this past Wednesday. Murphy's Law: anything that could go wrong, did go wrong. The best laid plans just weren't working.
Things that I had done numerous times before— having worked well before— were not working this time.
As the day went on, things just kept compounding.
By the time the day was over and I finally sat down, I had to laugh. It was so unbelievable that it was almost hysterical.
David Hawkins wrote a book called Letting Go,
in which he describes how our body's vibrations respond to how we react to certain situations. My reactions to each negative event would be reflected in how *I* was vibrating in that moment. Ultimately, we should have a " take it as it comes"
attitude about most events. We should not react in anger or any other type of lower vibration emotion. Keep steady, strong, and grounded—regardless of what's happening around us. More importantly, know that whatever happens is for our own greater good.
So how do we master that skill?
I feel almost like laughing while I'm writing this because " to master
" seems like an impossible task. We're human beings, regardless of what we " know
." We are going to have days that try our patience, our sanity, and our resolve to stay grounded.
Wednesday was that day for me. It was a challenge. I recognized that I was off-center and losing myself in the events of the day. I also realized that if I didn't find a way to re-center myself, this day was going to continue getting worse. Frankly, I'd had enough already.
So when I had a moment to quiet myself and relax, I began laughing
. At nothing; at anything
. Laughter seems to be a good starting point because if you step yourself out of what happened and look at it third person, it truly is funny! Now I'm not going to tell you that it was that simple to regroup myself—it wasn't. As a matter of fact, I believe that all the events of that day affected my physical body as well. My body wasn't happy either.
Keeping ourselves centered and grounded in the face of adversity is not easy. It is a challenge each and every one of us faces everyday. It could be something simple, or it could be something more difficult like a suppressive force in your life— perhaps someone who knows how to find your buttons and repeatedly push them. When that is happening, it can be very challenging to find your center and stay there.
This is something we need to consciously work on everyday. If we don't, it will affect our happiness, our joy, our purpose, and our physical well being as well.
Are you letting the events of your world weigh on you?
Are you letting a suppressive force in your life keep you from living your best life? Are you struggling to find your center and stay there? At what vibration are you reacting to the events of your life? What can you do to raise your vibration to a more positive, loving one?
There is not a one size fits all solution here. It is, by no means, a universally simple process to re-center yourself. In this instance I used laughter, meditation, and yoga. That helped, but I had to continue it over the next several days. I gave my body and mind what it needed and asked for. I had to accept and forgive myself for getting thrown off balance. More importantly now that my mind is clear and I recognize my responses to these events in the past, I need to do whatever was necessary to regain that center.
So if you see me this week and my hair's a little grayer, now you know why! 🤣🤣
Take note this week of how you are reacting to situations in your life, and pay attention to how your physical body is reacting. Find some tools to help you when you feel yourself getting stressed, anxious, angry, etc. It could be deep breathing. It could be a walk or a hike. It could be indulging in some pet therapy. It could be laughter. Whatever works for you! What helps one person may not necessarily be successful for you. The times we are in right now are challenging for us all, which makes it even more crucial that we work on self grounding. We need to stay mindful and sane so that we may help bring peace and love back into the world!
Have a great week everyone!!! Stay strong—we've got this!
