Motivational Monday: The MOMENTS of Life
(Posted on October 12, 2020)

Yesterday afternoon I took Karla to the dog park. There was a couple there with their two dogs and their newborn baby. The mother was sitting on a bench feeding the baby and my dog ( who LOVES babies
) had to take a peek. Fortunately for me, the woman was really receptive to Karla sitting aside of her and staring lovingly at her baby! 🤣 As a result, the two of us struck up a conversation. The baby was 2 months old and she was feeding every three hours. The mother was exhausted—and in 3 weeks she had to be back at her job. She was a bit stressed about how she was going to make things work.
I think most of us parents can relate
. We remember the times when we weren't sleeping, trying to work, trying to keep it together, and trying to give our children a balanced life. We were trying to enjoy it!
Sometimes we succeeded at keeping the balance, but sometimes we likely fell short of succeeding. Regardless, I bet we realize in hindsight that those moments were fleeting
. The nights I held my crying baby to give her comfort—sacrificing my own sleep as a result— it was only one moment out of many
. The "terrible twos— they were a moment
. School years— a moment
. All of it— simply a moment
.
All moments gone by.
Now, in hindsight, those sleepless nights are something I smile at. The time my two-year-old emptied the refrigerator on the floor and gave the dog a " huge
" snack— hysterical
! Although with everything going on in the background—and a sick dog— it was not so funny in the moment!
Moments!
Our lives are filled with them. I see a young mother holding her baby and I just want to tell her to relish that moment! It's fleeting. Enjoy the antics of a two-year-old; they will fill the book of your life with the most memorable of moments.
Sometimes when we're dealing with the stresses of daily life we forget that our lives are only a series of moments. The present is the fine line between past and future. We have a choice in every moment, but sometimes it's hard to see that when stress gets high. It's hard to, in the moment
, always react perfectly or on a high vibration. Sometimes we react in anger or a lower emotion. That's a moment as well.
When you look at the movie of your life, what types of moments do you want to see? Do you want to see happy, love, and laughter
? Or will you see anger, resentment, and fear?
Choose wisely! Life is a fleeting series of moments!
This is an important time in our history and it's vital that we lead with our hearts. While I was researching information for this article I came across "Doc Childre." I remember hearing about him years ago but had honestly forgotten about it. He had developed some physical issues and began researching alternative treatments for them. In 1991, he set up the Institute of HeartMath
(now called HeartMath Institute) as a nonprofit research and educational organization. The institute conducted experiments on how the right sounds can help to align a person's heart and mind energies. There is a link above if you're interested in checking it out. Apparently, they are offering free access to the entire course because of what's going on in the world. If you're having difficulty dealing with the stresses and aligning your responses in a loving way, this might be something that interests you. I just signed up for it, and I'm interested in learning more. It is so important right now that regardless of our beliefs
that we stay in love! Do not allow fear and anger to rob you of the moments of your life. They are precious and they are few!
Go forward this week in love! Share love. Give love. Receive love!
WE GOT THIS!!!!
"Remember then: there is only one time that is important -- NOW. It is the most important time because it's the only time when we have any power."
