Motivational Monday: Where are you now?
(Originally posted on May 4, 2020)

So how are you all doing?
Looks like we're going to be self-quarantine for a bit yet, or at least according to what I'm reading. There is always and upside and a downside to every situation. Usually, the way you choose to perceive something will be the deciding factor in what you take out of any given scenario. In other words, are you going to grow or shrink
because of this situation?
When I first graduated high school, I went to work for a company in my first " office job."
The relationships I cherished while I was in school were falling by the wayside simply because my life had changed. I was concerned about different things and I had set different goals for myself. I was on a path to achieving those goals and the relationships that I was now creating were enabling me to see the direction I wanted my life to head in. At the time, I didn't realize that my relationships had changed because I had changed. So what changed me?
Was it the situation I was in? Or was it my goals for the future?
I think it was a little of both
; simply because at that stage of my life—and with a lack of life experience—I couldn't see differently. As we get older and have more experience under our belts, we can CHOOSE
how we let a situation change us.
Let's take this situation we're in now.
I was supposed to go to Florida this past weekend for the Level 3 course as part of my training. Obviously that wasn't happening
! Therefore, they came up with a way to deliver this level via a Zoom classroom. I was apprehensive.
I wasn't sure the level of information— or maybe the ability to absorb the information
—would be the same as it would be if being done in person.
So my choices were to let my concern rule me or to be open minded—going into the class with the intent of taking out of it everything I could
. In the end, I chose the latter and I was pleasantly surprised. There were definitely positives and negatives to each scenario ( as there always is)
, but the positives outweighed the negatives by far. I left the class feeling like my brain is full of information, and I'm excited to get back into the full swing of things and help people! Mission accomplished!
Life is always a choice! We can choose to only see the dark side of a situation, or we can choose to see the light. What if this time of " quarantine
" allows us to rest and rejuvenate? What if it allows us time to open our minds to other alternatives? What if it allows us to awaken, grow, and move past situations that are causing us to stagnate? What if this is EXACTLY what we need at EXACTLY this time?
Would that change the way you're feeling? What if you could look in a crystal ball and see the future? What if you could see that what you learn and choose to do in this moment will be the deciding factor in how your future will be?
This is an awakening! Use this time to move past what's holding you back and to start looking forward.
We got this!!! Stay strong, stay positive, and awaken yourself!
