Motivational Monday: 365 Days...
(Posted on December 28, 2020)

365 Days
8,760 hours
525,600 minutes
31,536,000 seconds
The amount of time given to us in a typical year!
2020 is coming to a close
. We're just 4 days away from the end of it. Most of us are glad to see this one come to a close, and we're starting the new one with renewed hopes and dreams.
Let's take a moment to reflect on 2020. Well, for starters it was a leap year, which meant we actually had a bit more time to accomplish our goals. The winter was relatively mild. Drive-in movies made a comeback. We stayed at home and cooked more, enjoyed family time, watched movies, read books, played board games. Schools took on a whole new level of learning. We attended events from the privacy of our home ( and in our pj's -- my personal favorite
)! We took walks, we played outside, we spent time together.
Many people took up what seems to be the dying art of sewing and came up with creative masks for people to wear. I mean if we have to cover our faces why not be stylish about it?
In June in Barcelona Spain, The Gran Teatre del Liceu opera house reopened and performed its first concert since the lockdown to an audience of plants
. The 2,292 seats in the auditorium were occupied by plants, the event was streamed live for a human audience
, and the plants were donated to local healthcare workers.
Pet adoptions and fostering of pets was higher than normal. People were home, they had time --- why not love a pet?
Speaking of dogs
--- this denture stealing dog
made us laugh and stole our hearts.
As a collective whole, we are waking up
. We are seeing what's truly important and we're focusing on that. We recognize that if we keep our body healthy, we're less likely to get sick, and if God forbid
we do, we know how to support our bodies so that it handles it better. What a valuable lesson.
The average life expectancy in the United States is 78.54 years
. That means we have approximately 28,667
days in our lifetime. That's actually not a lot.
Think of it in terms of dollars --- if you only have 28,667 dollars --- than 365 is quite a bit. You're going to ration and only spend those dollars on what you truly need or truly desire. You're not going to waste them frivolously. Why would you choose to waste the precious moments of your life?
So here we are, about to put this year behind us and embark on the next part of our journey - 2021
! What will be different? What will have changed in the outside world?
Likely, not much. Will there be challenges
? You'd better believe there will be. Will there be moments of joy and happiness? There absolutely will be!
Which are you going to focus on?
Or, is it possible that every single thing that happens in our life is meant for our greater good. What if 2020, amid all its challenges, opened us to a new way of thinking, a new way of being --- what if it woke us up?
Wouldn't that be a true miracle????
Reflect on 2020 with a different view and an appreciation of all it gave to us. Move forward into 2021 with a renewed sense of appreciation for life and each and every one of its amazing moments!
We GOT THIS! 2020 woke us up
--- 2021 is going to be fantastic!
Many blessings to you and your family during this holiday season!
BRING IT ON!
“If I had my life to live over. There would have been more I love yous ... more I'm sorrys ... more I'm listenings ... but mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute of it ... look at it and really see it ... try it on ... live it ... exhaust it ... and never give that minute back until there was nothing left of it.”
