Motivational Monday: WE are responsible!
(Originally posted on April 6, 2020)

So how are all of you doing in quarantine?
I saw a post that said "I'm finally grounded for all the things I never got caught for in my teens." 🤣 I'm sure we can all relate!
But seriously: how is it going? When we're faced with situations like this, it should give us time to sit and reflect on ourselves as well as what our values and priorities are.
This experience for me has given me new perspective on many things. I found that I'm fine with being home. There is plenty for me to keep busy with, and there are moments when I just choose to be still— that's OK too. I've enjoyed walk after walk after walk with my dog ( sometimes she gives me the side eye, like, "Again? Really???"
) I've learned that I enjoy a slower pace and that I need
fewer things. At the office, we are using this time to implement some new programs to help you all achieve your goals. I'm actually finding this entire situation to be a time of inner reflection; most of all, I choose exactly how I'm going to react to what's going on
. I plan on using this time wisely, and coming out a better person on the other side.
From what I've seen, there is an amazing amount of good going on in the world. People are reaching out and helping others; neighbors helping neighbors, and strangers helping strangers. During this time, I've only personally witnessed one angry response from a patron in a store. The interesting thing was that as angry as he was, no one in the store responded in anger. They just let him rant and went about what they were doing. The best response to anger is no response!
In all other cases, I've seen kindness and empathy—more so than in normal circumstances. That
is a beautiful thing!
We may not have control over this pandemic or what the newest regulations will be. However, we have complete and total control over how we react to it. Stay calm and steady. Take this time to reflect inward on who you are and who you want to be. Evaluate what's important in your life and where you want your life to go when this is all over. When this is all past us and when it is just a memory, will you have taken something positive from it? Will you have grown? Will you be a better person? Or will you be like the guy in the store: full of rage, anger, and FEAR
????
Look in the mirror. You are the one in charge here! How are you changing from all this!
BE THE LIGHT!!!!!!!
